Overview

Mr. Marsland, by letter, engages as his secretary the Rev. Robert Spaulding, meekest of the meek. For various reasons, Harry, Marsland's nephew, wishes his friend, Douglas Cattermole, to pass himself off as the secretary. The reverend gentleman arrives to fulfill his duties, and the young men have their work cut out to disabuse the minds of the elder people. This is one of the funniest and surely one of the cleanest farce-comedies ever written.
