Overview

A "cloak and dagger" play by the Spanish master of the Golden Age. A noblewoman falls in love with her secretary, but her sense of "honor" in stasis, prevents her from admitting her infatuation even to herself except under the stress of jealousy. Through an intricate plot, she keeps her "honor" as her infatuation grows to a state of passion,—the sense of society is preserved for the external picture and the individual "honor" of noblewoman and secretary are united in a most clever and roundabout way.
