Overview

Produced in New York as "Atlas and Eva". The story of Elmer Nebblepredder, a hardworking floor-walker in the town's best department store, who assumes all the worries of his entire family. Elmer acts as Cupid for his bashful sisters and finds jobs for all the male members of his family. But he worries too much and finds himself seriously ill. There is a very amusing scene where Elmer imagines he dies and finds himself before St. Peter who, much to Elmer's surprise, tells him that he is not wanted in Heaven, as his disposition would disturb the harmony of the other souls. Then Elmer awakes and realizes that he has neglected to give his wife and himself the attention they need. As the curtain falls you realize just how Elmer intends to act in the future.
