Overview

The hero is a youthful scientist who by discovering a formula by which he can control the atom, harnessing its boundless energy. Because he is the nephew of the Prime Minister of England, he first seeks Britain's aid rather than that of the League of Nations and brings his proposition to the British Cabinet. His statement of his discovery is simple, and should appeal to men of intelligence. The cabinet does not grasp the meaning of the discovery and in the end the scientist is shot for his pains, but leaving behind him a powerful plea for peace on earth.
