Robert Pine
Arthur Granger, an unsuccessful novelist who lives a Walter Mitty like fantasy existence, is dining in an Italian restaurant with only one waitress and one customer-- him. As he selects his dinner he fantasizes about a romantic conquest involving far fetched plots. The waitress portrays characters in his fantasy. Soon, Arthur is chattering at such a clip that his sanity is in doubt. He finishes his dinner and goes home, ending as he began-- as a lover manque.
