Overview
Three short plays the sharply and humorously observe life as a modern American woman. Contents include Chicks, "a play for one woman and twenty-five imaginary kindergarten students;" The Coming of Mr. Pine, "an evening of innuendo," and Fits and Starts, "a miracle play." A woman desperate to give her life meaning wants to make sure her 5- and 6-year-old students know the truth; three women elsewhere await the arrival of a male visitor with bated breath; and yet another woman finds herself and her story unexpectedly in front of a live television studio audience.
