Joan Holden, Dario Fo
The Pope explains it all in this wild send up of Catholicism and politics by Italy's Nobel Prize winning farceur. In the Piazza San Pietro thousands of hungry children, the fruits of the his birth control doctrine, are crying for food. Meanwhile he contends with assassination attempts (an exploding canary), mafiosi, drug dealers, sinister bankers, and inept cardinals. He ends up in the street with a laundry basket on his head and a packet of heroin in his pocket, giving away condoms.
