Isabel Duarte
In this sensitive comedy, Bingo buddies Mary and Peggy face challenges to "improve" from different quarters. Mary's daughters yearn for middle-class respectability, while Peggy must deal with Mary's grudge against her "no-good," charismatic boyfriend.
Both women must confront the upheavals that throw them for a loop, brought on by the riotous push and pull between what is familiar and comfortable for them to do, which is to hang out and play bingo, versus what others want them to do. The last thing these two old friends want to do do is face change. Their lives are hard enough already.
