Overview
In this very funny monologue, a middle aged teacher, forced by his school board to teach Creationism in his science class, tries to swallow his contempt for what he considers idiotic superstition masquerading as science because he needs to pay alimony. His increasingly bitter, revealing and wildly inappropriate lecture to his class becomes a dark investigation of what science is, of the relationship of science to belief, the existence of God, man's place in the world, and how closely related the school board is to monkeys. This darkly sardonic monologue is a great showcase for an actor in his prime.
