Their Very Own and Golden City

Overview

Four working-class youngsters enter Durham Cathedral to spend the day sketching. Bravely they discuss the future and how they will be called upon to make it. They even go into detail—and as they do—we flash forward. We move through apprenticeship, civic work, the war, the post-war hopes, the let-down, the decision to take up the project of building the cities themselves, the compromises.
