Overview
A conniving Alligator convinces a Ranchero to help him out of a dried riverbed, and subsequently repays him by promising to eat him. Confused, the Ranchero asks why good must be repaid with evil. The Alligator agrees to ask the next three who come along if this is truly the custom. The Ox and the Burro agree; it doesn't look good for the Ranchero. But the Coyote needs to have their scene replayed before deciding. In doing so, he spares the Ranchero's life. One of five short plays that explore Latin American mythology for all ages and races in Spirit of Hispania.
