Overview

Two women introduce us to old man Abraham and his fun-loving son Isaac. The loose, humorous banter between the two reminds us that they are real people, and underscores the tragic dimension of the act Abraham must commit. On a lonely mountaintop, the brokenhearted father lays his disbelieving son on the altar. A dream sequence interrupts the fatal stroke of the knife and Isaac envisions a man with scarred hands taking his place on the altar saying, "You see, you and your dad were the dress rehearsal. My father and I . . we had to go through with it." An inspiring drama laced with wit and love. A Baker best seller.
