Overview

With all the technology of pagers, answering machines, faxes, e-mails, chatrooms, it's a wonder we connect at all! This is just the premise behind this thoughtful gem of a play. A group of young adults try to get together even though the forces of technology and circumstance conspire against them. Have our inventions served their purpose in bringing us closer together? Or do they, as this play implies, create a world where distance can be more easily maintained? The play cleverly uses projections of dialogue to illustrate lively chatroom discussions, along with audiotaped (or live) answering machine recordings.
