Overview

The Man with his Mother on his Arm is a comedy based on the concept of "Momism." We follow Ed Regis from birth to adulthood as he tries to go through life without his mother, but his mother is a puppet on his arm that he carries through every crisis. A chorus of four women plays her voice. She is present even on Ed's honeymoon and causes Ed's marriage to Vivian to fail. Even when his mother finally dies and he thinks he has his life in order, we see at her graveside that even in death, Ed's mother has an irreversible hold on him still. In Spells, 3 One-Act Comedies
