Stella Wallace
An exceptionally charming, inspirational adaptation of the familiar story. We begin in the Enchanted Garden where an absolutely poisonous witch has been waiting hundreds of years for Mr. Right to stumble into her lair. To her delight, a Prince arrives. But when he refuses to be her husband, she zaps him into the visage of a Beast and imprisons him in her wintry garden forever. That is, until either he marries her, or until a beautiful maiden falls in love with him, which would be absurd. But one does, rest assured! A good-natured, wandering maidservant, Mary Ellen helps fascilitate the arrival of Beauty and she and the Prince/Beast find love, foiling the witch's plot. Audience participation is encouraged, especially when the Beast is dying and the children must wish for Beauty to come back. We have read dozens of adaptations of this story and we're happy to say, we finally found the one we've been waiting for!
