Overview

A hilarious, satiric view of T.V. soap opera through the eyes of its author and cast. Scott Pilbeam writes the award winning "Footsteps to Happiness" using his family's and friends' private lives. While he's writing at his New England hideaway, his wife appears asking for a divorce, their son tells his mother Scott's having an affair with the soap's leading lady who also shows up. And then Walter, Scott's twin whom he hasn't seen for thirty years shows up with his psychiatrist fiancee to bury the hatchet. Scott disappears after his family finds fifty thousand dollars in his attache case someone calls saying he's been kidnapped but the family assumes Walter is Scott who reappears but not before Walter discovers his twin isn't all he envied. They're forced to get together to solve the problems in a hilarious and often truthful manner. The audience but not the cast knows which twin is always on stage. The dual role affords an excellent opportunity for an actor, but all the roles give a chance for good performances with an underlying depth of character.
