The Galilean Incidents

Overview

A collection of playlets dealing with the signs of Jesus, each with roles to showcase your most talented players. In one episode, a woman healed of bleeding is forced to testify before a critical scribe. In the Incident of the Samaritan Leper, the comically incorrigible Cleophas makes his living by telling how Jesus cleansed him -- a truly bravura part for a character actor. In a particularly moving piece, the lad whose loaves and fishes fed the multitudes plays a game with his lame sister while a wise and witty neighbor asks sly questions. Another episode tells how the news of the miracle of the changing of water into wine evokes an unexpected reaction from a widow. The playlets require few simple props, can be rehearsed independently, and can be performed in combinations chosen by the director.

Who knew that a biblical play could provoke so many smiles and out loud laughter.
