After twenty years of marriage, Cinderella and Prince Charming have some problems: the Enchanted Kingdom teeters on the brink of bankruptcy. Cinderella's fairy godmother is blackmailing her, the Prince's adviser has one arm and one swan's wing and an unfortunate habit of breaking everything he encounters, and Red Riding Hood has set her cap for the Prince. Though hoping Rumplestilskin can spin gold from straw, the Prince fears he may have to make the Enchanted Kingdom a tourist attraction. Cinderella resolves their difficulties by confronting her godmother and opening the Kingdom to writers who promise them royalties from their stories.

Overall, it's a terrific play. It has some great flexibility. Our stage is tiny, so I combined some of the smaller roles in the ballroom scene to give us fewer actors. The characters have depth, and the plot has terrific surprises. We're looking forward to a production that will be enjoyed by an audience of all ages. I did have to clean up some of the language to make it appropriate for children.
