Note: Several characters could be either gender with minor script changes. Most of the following characters also play cameo roles. Cast may be expanded by adding a chorus and additional cast members to play these cameo roles.
JAMIE – Popular, High School Senior. He's athletic, smart and the ultimate nice guy. Jamie and his sister Corri are unhappy about moving to a new school in the middle of the year. (Strong singer)
CORRI – (Could be male or female) Jamie's younger sister/brother, is spunky, full of energy, has a great sense of humor and is bound and determined to protect his/her brother from the school bully even though he/she is much smaller. (Strong singer)
JILLIAN – Jamie's new love interest. She is sweet, coy, and sincere with a sense of humor. (Singer)
TY – Is the one person who has friends in all the different cliques. Ty is compassionate, caring and has a silly sense of humor yet still is mature beyond her years. Ty acts as the narrator and moves in and out of the scenes at will – often breaking the “fourth wall.” (Singer)
KC – (Could be male or female) Is the quirky, fun-loving, school news reporter. He/she knows everything about everyone. He/she is the class clown...is brilliant and is also the constant victim of bullying. KC covers his/her embarrassment and pain with humor and finally cracks at the end.
ERIK – Is the school bully. He has a horrific home life that includes domestic violence. The only way he feels important and in control is by pushing others around. He wants to turn his life around, but doesn't know how. (Rapper who sings)
TIFFANY – The School Diva! She is “Miss Popular,” but not very nice. She's into everything superficial, loves designer clothes and being the center of attention. She's sassy, snobby and is a verbal bully who loves to put people down in an attempt to pump herself up. (Strong singer)
AMANDA – A Tiffany wanna-be. She's also sassy and stuck-up and always trying to get Tiffany's approval. She hides the fact that she has a brain. (Singer)
AMY – Also a Tiffany wanna-be on the surface. She's actually very smart but plays the ditsy girl because she thinks it will make her more popular. She has second thoughts about treating people badly. (Singer)
BRENT – (Could be male or female) The school's most serious and joyfully enthusiastic theatre kid. Brent loves to perform and is always prepared. He/she is a nice kid, always willing to help others with their auditions. Brent is a good friend and a good listener.
KATIE – Several years younger than the new kid, Jamie, yet has a huge, puppy-love crush on him. She is so in luv that she tries too hard to get his attention and usually ends up making embarrassing blunders. She and Brent are good friends.
